Last month (Dec 24) I (as in David) joined some of my fellow classmates (from College) decideded to hosting a wee exhibition in Glasgow. Here’s why:
It’s been nearly 20 years (just a bit over but I’ll round down) since I first arrived to Glasgow to study illustration. A class full of misfits but little did I know that those people would help start me on a path that I’m still on!
A few of those ‘misfits’ had thought it would be a good idea to have a wee reunion. Myself and three other of my classmates banded together to put on a wee retrospective of sorts. Each of us created a self initiated project inspired by whatever we were inspired by from our lives since leaving college (nearly 20 years!) Did I mention that??).
For my own inspiration, I chose to reminisce on our ‘glory days’ and create a number of artworks based on hang outs we had at the time, in the way they looked at the time. Some buildings have changed purpose, some no longer exist. As that time will stay with me forever, the buildings should also forever be immortalised.
