Urban Pirate was born in Glasgow in 2010,
the proud conception of artist and designer David Dow.
We are a small (but perfectly formed) independent crew, who
specialise in uniquely designed printed textiles of the highest quality.
OBSESSED with Scottish culture old and new, our style is a brew of street culture and Scottish history.
We continue to be influenced by the AWESOME imagery and landscape that
surrounds us. The result, a range of clothing and textiles that proudly
shouts about the quality of homegrown design.
Our tees are hand screen printed by traditional methods and our
aprons, tea towels and bags are made from the highest quality organic
cotton which is ethically sourced.
Despite the Pirate himself having size 13 feet, we strive to keep our
carbon footprint as wee as possible. Everything we print is made
locally in Glasgow or in the UK.
We recycle packaging where we can and try our best to rid the world of the dreaded carrier bag.
Our emphasis is to provide consistent quality, not
quantity. We don’t want to be a massive, multi-national
‘decepticon’ skyscraper firm….we’ll leave that to those who look good in suits.
We take pride in the good relationships we have formed with our
lovely customers over the past three years, those who have helped us
build and grow(thank you, you know who you are!) and look forward to
making new ones.
